How often does Claude go down?
The counters above tally every Claude incident in Anthropic's official status feed and show the average per week. Anthropic publishes only its 50 most recent incidents, so the span covered is stated under the numbers, and during a busy stretch that can be a matter of weeks rather than months. Most incidents are brief and affect a single component — a specific model, or just the API — rather than all of Claude at once.
How long do Claude outages usually last?
The median figure above is calculated from each incident's official start and resolution timestamps. Minor degradations resolve much faster than major outages, so the median is usually well below the longest incident in the window.
Where does this come from?
Anthropic's own incident record at status.claude.com, read live via its public API. We don't run independent probes, so nothing here is a guess on our part. Each entry links to the official incident report.
Why might this differ from what I experienced?
A status page only lists incidents the vendor has declared. Short blips, regional problems, and account-specific failures often never get an incident record, so your bad afternoon may not appear here at all.
